Field Of Dreams One
Photograph - Photography
A farm field is spread out beneath a big sky in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. The middle section of the field is soybeans, flanked by two strips of corn. The white, fluffy clouds are particularly dramatic on this late summer afternoon. This field is in Yates County near Keuka Lake. Many of the farms in this area are owned by the Amish. They sell their produce in the nearby towns and villages. The hills above the Finger Lakes are dotted with vineyards that have produced fine wines since the middle of the nineteenth century. Much of the corn grown in this area is used to feed dairy cattle; New York State is the third largest producer of dairy products in the U.S.
