This image started as a doing stroke work and looking at some ostriches close ups from the zoo. I began to see patterns and took some paint to play around with the wispy movements that I saw on them. I painted this and layers began to evolve and then finished this digitally with different brushes and color tints. Feathers allow birds to fly, but they also help them show off, blend in, stay warm, and keep dry.
