Fantasy Sea won second place in the Watercolor Society of Amarillo's show of 2013.This painting on Yupo, is a fantasy watercolor painting of sea creatures and fish in tropical waters . The areas of school fish,sea vegetation and white coral are made by floating pigment and water on the surface of the paper. It is an amazing surface to work on. Because it is non porous, the pigment mixes with some tilting and gentle coaxing to create the desired result.

Art has been my passion for most of my life. I studied at the Art Students League in New York City, then worked in the graphic arts field. For many years I have been painting in watercolor, oil, and acrylic mediums. My style has changed from realism to include impressionistic and abstract compositions. I want to capture the shapes and colors of nature by experimenting with different surfaces. Yupo and oriental papers allow me a freedom with watercolor and acrylic paints and inks.The medium and paper always lead me on to new paths of discovery.
