This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

Enlarged and upgraded, the F-18E Super Hornet is now replacing F-18s and F-14s as the US Navy�s most capable strike fighter aircraft to date.
Art created for a model kit box cover and used with permission.
This is a Super Hornet from VFA-122 heading from its home base at NAS Lemoore in Central California during the annual airshow, piloted by Lieutenant Carine "Sweaty" Cassady. Her brother Stephen Palm informs me that her nickname origniates from her Maiden name (Palm).
About Stu Shepherd
Stu Shepherd has been an aviation illustrator for nearly twenty years. His work is mostly known by box cover art on aircraft model kits made by Revell and Monogram, for whom he has done over 300 images (now including car box art and Star Wars items too). Stu has also worked in the Computer Game and Internet Community industries. He also creates art in the Science Fiction and Fantasy Genres, with his strength in spaceship design and environments. Stu just completed his first novel Sci-fi, and will soon complete his second. He lives in Central California.
