Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Exploration by Maggie Terlecki
I took this image for a series concept I have about traits that make us human.
I think exploration is one of those very human things we do. I wanted to show how we travel the earth and have explored much of it and the next step will be that big wild beautiful universe that is just out there out of our reach at the moment.
The earthly part is simply a paper boat ( I actually had to google on the internet how to make one as I didn't know how :-D ) and I photographed it on a page of an old atlas and the sky is a harvest moon photo I took and I did a composite to achieve the image I wanted.

I take pictures of things I feel a connection to, a way of sharing my feelings, my world, and my place in it. I also do digital painting - mostly fantastical creatures like fairies.
