"Evening Frolic with Swans' by Patti Deters. During the winter, a pair of Trumpeter Swans (Cygnus buccinator) appear to play and frolic in the early evening mist forming over the cold river. Photographed near Hudson, Wisconsin, these graceful white birds were actually chasing each other away, but in this scene they seem to be performing a dance or just having some fun on the water. We are lucky to have swans overwinter in various locations along the St. Croix River. Hi! My artwork is photography of all things nature, especially wildlife, flowers, and landscapes. Many of the flowers and wildlife images are from my local area around Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. Others are from photo trips taken with my husband of 40+ years.
