Description
Erlanger Garden Arches | Fine Art Photograph by Colleen Kammerer
The Erlanger Gardens on Monmouth University's campus were inspired by the grounds of Versailles. While viewing the Erlanger Gardens you'll find this ornate portico. This portico (from Italian word porch) is designed with connecting archways supported by columns with a roof structure over a walkway. It surrounds the gardens, making a half circle and leads to the entrance of Wilson Halls Pompeii room on one side and a row of beautiful fountains edge the other side of the garden. This sanctuary is part of Monmouth University's beautiful and plush landscape.
