I absolutely love this photo of Hazel. My first visit to the Smoky Mountains was in April 2017. I have been searching for a black bear photo for years and this one stole my heart. This beautiful girl was photographed the same year. I am very pleased with the canvas print!!

Artist's Description
At 7:05 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST) on April 25, 1967, EC-121H serial number 53-0549 crashed and was destroyed one mile south of the western tip of Nantucket Island, Massachusetts. Of the 16 crew-members aboard the aircraft, 15 were fatalities. One of the two navigators aboard, 1st Lt Joseph L.H. Guenet, survived sustaining major injuries. The aircraft and its crew were assigned to the 551st Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) Wing and were participating in an active air defense mission over the Atlantic Ocean. I was 14 years old in 1967 when this aircraft crashed into the Atlantic off of Nantucket Island. My family lived on Cape Cod and my father was assigned to Otis AFB as a Field Training Instructor on the avionics systems for the EC-121H. I remember the sadness I felt when I heard the news that this aircraft had gone down. I created this profile as a tribute to those airman on board 53-0549.
