Description

My wife and I were sitting on the front porch having coffee and a beautiful green lizard crawled down our Chinese Maple Tree and puffed up his orange throat. I quietly went and got my camera and came back where he cooperated while I took his picture. I looked up to see what he is called and it is a green anole lizard. It is a he as the puffing up is a scare tactic to ward off predators. It is also a courtship ritual. I hope he was afraid of me!
