This is the most beautiful painting! I feel lucky and blessed that I came across it! My husband and I honeymooned in Mo’orea and we had taken many pictures in front of this church. To find that Greg Collins painted it was such a joy! We will treasure it forever!

I was super-pleased with my photo print purchase! Like many people, I’m sure, when making online purchases there’s always just a little voice of skepticism in the back of my mind. I knew I liked the image, but had to roll the dice that it would look good in person, the frame would be adequate, etc. I must say it exceeded even my hopeful expectations! First of all, the packing was stellar. The photo print did look great in person, and the framing was WAY better than I was expecting! It was ready to go with a sturdy hanging wire already in place. Unfortunately it was a gift, so I don’t have a photo of it on my wall! I did, however, open and inspect it before wrapping it and re-shipping (in the same stellar packing!). I would easily recommend FineArtAmerica and will happily shop with them again in the future…worry free!

In 2004 I attended a humanities conference in Waikiki, Hawaii. While walking through Ala Moana Beach Park I saw the most amazing Banyan and Ficus trees with branches cascading to the ground in sinuous, intertwining columns that seemed to epitomize the very concept of complex organic growth. Many of these trees display a lifetime of scars - people's initials carved into them, branches that have been broken or severed - and yet they remain, silent and patient, bearing witness to the world as it unfolds around them. Waikiki was so beautiful that it seemed to me like a contemporary Garden of Eden. I took hundreds of photos, the best of which are presented here in the form of manipulated and enhanced images. As with many of the other works on this site, my goal is to create images that are lush with colour and rich with texture: works that have the same aesthetic sensibility as paintings. For the best possible result, I recommend printing my color images on Somerset Velvet paper, which is a surface that gives these works an impressive fine art feeling. My black and white images will look best on Cool Tone Picture Rag: a surface that really shows off the subtle variety of tones.
