Denali is the highest mountain peak in North America, with a summit elevation of 20,310 feet above sea level. At some 18,000 ft, the base-to-peak rise is the largest of any mountain situated entirely above sea level. It is said that only 20% of visitors to Denali National Park ever actually see the mountain, as it is often obstructed by heavy clouds.
