Description
We were so surprised to see running water in the Death Valley! Apparently, it is from brackish springs and marshes more than a mile upstream. The water becomes increasingly salty due to evaporation and could be saltier than sea water. This seasonal stream of salty water is the only home of the rare Salt Creek Pupfish and we saw plenty of them. They are tiny.
