Description
I made this painting for my book (published in Hebrew) "Aspects of Goethe's Theory of Colour". It is an imaginative abstract representation of the colours of the "First Stage Dark Spectrum" which one sees when first looking through a prism at a black stripe on white background. This painting shows the colours one sees arising through the prism with their intermediate hues: light to dark blue leading to purple on the one side, yellow to orange on the other side, culminating in red, which later miraculously turns into luminous pink ("purpur" and finally "peach blossom") as one gets further away from the dark stripe (or makes the dark stripe thinner).
