Description
Cuttalossa - Home and studio of Pennsylvania Impressionist painter Daniel Garber (1880-1958), it is named after a creek along which the property lies, near the sleepy town of Lumberville. Garber purchased it as a small stone cottage in 1915, and enlarged it into a homestead that reflected his artistic vision, "in harmony with his paintings and with himself," as a student of his at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts once described it. This 2008 oil-on-canvas view of the hillside by Joseph Levine, is part of a "Bucks County Landscape" series that aims to capture the regions' calm--almost elegiac--serenity, a quality for which the works of Daniel Garber are well known.

Hi Joseph--This reminds very much of the park I jogged through this morning. I see you did this one a few years back. This invites me to run up the stair and into the forest and find the river. Nicely done. FAV.
