On rare occasions, a cloud layer is positioned at just the right position at sunrise for its understory to capture the shadow of a mountain -- in this case, Washington state's majestic Mount Rainier. Such a shadow is called a crepuscular ray or mountain shadow. This view was captured from the ferry dock at Anderson Island, Washington, USA.
