... A country covered bridge
spans the small stream
in this countryside backroads photo.
The creek water reflects
the lovely blue sky above,
just before sunset, clouds
gracing the horizon
in the pasture.
The small lane
leads to a farm
just above the banks
of the stream.
The wood of the bridge
are stained a vibrant red - orange.
Grass grows lush
in the fields and meadows
around the bridge
and catch the late afternoon
turning into evening sunlight.
Captured in the Smoky Mountains
of western North Carolina,
this is some of the oldest
pastureland in the region.
Also known as
the Blue Ridge mountains,
North Carolina is full
of small barns, farms,
and rural scenes,
just waiting to be captured
by a camera lens
and preserved forever...
