Hello Spring!

This is my first capture of spring 2022, although in its earliest stages, but meteorological speaking, it is springtime in New York!

This is Mine Dock Park, located in Fort Montgomery, NY, and it is one of the Hudson River Parks that was established and maintained by the Scenic Hudson organization. It turned out to be a fallback location to photograph that morning, as I was planning on shooting further up river off of the Storm King Highway, but unfortunately, it was closed to traffic (I'll go back later in the year).

About the title: In music, counterpoint is the relationship between two or more musical lines which are harmonically interdependent yet independent in rhythm and melodic contour.
I applied that terminology to this composition because I wanted to show the relationship between the man-made elements in the foreground juxtaposed against the natural environment in the background.
