Where a tangerine gold and russet cascade of kaleidoscopic leaves creates a tapestry of autumn magic on the carpet of a fading summer. Colorado in the Fall with its resplendent aspens amidst the rugged Alp-like peaks of the San Juan Mountains are sought out at this perfect time by photographers from all over the world.
The San Juan Skyway

San Juan Skyway, a breathtaking 236-mile loop through the San Juan Mountains of southwest Colorado, offers visitors an amazing array of fall colors and includes a 70-mile stretch known simply as the Million Dollar Highway. The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad offers a special Fall Photo Train that coincides with optimal fall foliage.
