This is the most beautiful painting! I feel lucky and blessed that I came across it! My husband and I honeymooned in Mo’orea and we had taken many pictures in front of this church. To find that Greg Collins painted it was such a joy! We will treasure it forever!

I was super-pleased with my photo print purchase! Like many people, I’m sure, when making online purchases there’s always just a little voice of skepticism in the back of my mind. I knew I liked the image, but had to roll the dice that it would look good in person, the frame would be adequate, etc. I must say it exceeded even my hopeful expectations! First of all, the packing was stellar. The photo print did look great in person, and the framing was WAY better than I was expecting! It was ready to go with a sturdy hanging wire already in place. Unfortunately it was a gift, so I don’t have a photo of it on my wall! I did, however, open and inspect it before wrapping it and re-shipping (in the same stellar packing!). I would easily recommend FineArtAmerica and will happily shop with them again in the future…worry free!

About Mick Anderson
While in college, Mick had the opportunity to work at St. Mary Lodge at the east entrance to Glacier National Park in Montana. It was in this magical place where he met several fellow students from other parts of the country who would change the direction of his life by introducing Mick to nature, the mountains, the guitar and singing, fly fishing, writing music, hiking, and -- most importantly -- the Single Lens Reflex camera! He had a chance to play with Pentacon, Yashica, Pentax, Nikon and other brands, leading cameras of the day. It opened up a whole new way of looking at the world, and started a hobby that quickly grew into a passion that has stood the test of many years. His first “real” camera was a Yashica “Electro-35”...

The blue of the sky with the cloud blanketing the peak and casting shadow play along the ridges,,, great capture Mick!
Mick Anderson replied:
Thank you Diane! The sheer majesty of this mountain creates its own weather and unique photographic opportunities :)
Mick Anderson
Thank you Jose! I appreciate the feature in Stop Time with Art :)
Heidi Smith
Hahaha! I love it! I remember going through Weed as a kid... isn't Dunsmuir somewhere near there too?
Mick Anderson replied:
Yep, the railroad town of Dunsmuir is just south about 20 miles or so, past the quaint town of Mt Shasta :)
Xueling Zou
Wow, so stunning! What a beautiful capture, Mick!! It looks so cold too, but I love the scene you capture!
Mick Anderson replied:
Thanks Xueling! It was relatively warm where I was standing, but the temperature cooled very quickly up on the mountain.
Bill Cannon
Nice!!
Mick Anderson replied:
Thanks Bill! Sometimes I have to really plan shots like this, and sometimes they fall into my lap, so to speak. That was the case this time... too easy! :)
Jenny Rainbow
Mick. this is gorgeous view, such a stunning contrast of the deep blue sky and white cap of the mountain with clouds!
Mick Anderson replied:
Jenny, this is the type of mountain photography that is most interesting to me. Thanks!! :)
Heidi Smith
Wow! Beautiful shot, Mick! f/v
Mick Anderson replied:
Thanks Heidi! I took this with my telephoto from the parking lot at McDonalds in Weed, California... LOL!!
Erica Hanel
Just gorgeous! I haven't seen Mt. Shasta in a long time, which direction does the blown out section face?
Mick Anderson replied:
What you see in this image faces west, but the blown out section on most of the Pacific Northwest volcanoes is to the northeast -- at least that's what I have observed. Thanks for the nice comment, Erica :)
