Artist's Description
This early 20th century photo features Chester Beach, an American Sculptor who worked in New York, Paris, and San Francisco and specialized in designing coins and creating bronze and marble sculptures. One of his marble sculptures namely ‘The Unveiling of the Dawn’ was displayed in the 1913 New York’s groundbreaking Armory Show in 1913 and he also taught sculpture at the Richmond Hill Settlement House in Queens, New York for a decade or so.
