Christmas lights have just been hung in Venice, Florida, and downtown is breathtaking. Two rows of decorated palm trees line the median of Venice Avenue for a couple blocks, drawing many visitors at night. This is the corner of West Venice Avenue and Nassau Street in historic downtown. You can see the Venice Avenue Creamery and the Sea Pleasures and Treasures gift shop on the corner. Venice is in Sarasota county on the west coast of Florida, and is known for its love of the arts, beautifully maintained gardens, and wonderful beaches. Many of the buildings were built in the 1920's which give the town its charm.

This photo is cropped 5 x 7 to fit perfectly on a Christmas card. It is also available edited in a painterly style with brush strokes and canvas texture.
