Changing perspectives on San Francisco Skyline at Dusk
Isn't San Francisco incredible in this evening light? (you are right, I might have added a little filter to it, but look how it brings out the beauty of this city)
Just yesterday we arrived at our new (temporary) home in Bernal Heights, where we have been invited to housesit for my partner's incredible Tai Chi teacher, while he is away in Europe and in Hawaii. What an honour to be welcomed into such a sacred space.
I say sacred because we live in a home that also contains 2 acupuncture treatment rooms and the scent of healing is quite literally hanging in the air. I smell moxa as I type these words. (Moxa is a herb that gets ignited to create heat at the end of an acupuncture needle; or this is my best understanding of this process, apologies for the pros reading this. I am always very happy to be corrected with details.)
So the scent of healing.. The space has a lovely calm energy and we just moved here from renting a garden shed that was fitted with a very nice mini kitchen and miniature bathroom, it was quite ok, just incredibly small and very far out in the suburbs.
But now we have this incredible view. YES exactly this view from the bedroom window of our temporary home in San Francisco!
If I can mange in the coming 6 weeks to generate some income with my photography and other skills and offerings (Language lessons, Fine Art work, Admin skills and more) then maybe we could really live here, too. Somewhere in this neighbourhood would make me so content. It would not have to be a space with 5 rooms, as this one is, but somewhere where our souls can un-crumple, where our dreams and art work can spread their wings. Somewhere that is not a single bedroom living situation shared between 2 adults, both needing physical possessions to create the work they make..
Do you think we can luck upon some businesses who might enjoy my photography, I would be so happy to take corporate portraits, photograph food for menus, do product photography for makers and starter-uppers.. I would be so happy to be able to use my camera to earn the money necessary to live in a home that is safe and allows our creative spirits to breath when we are not working on immediate income needs..
