This is the most beautiful painting! I feel lucky and blessed that I came across it! My husband and I honeymooned in Mo’orea and we had taken many pictures in front of this church. To find that Greg Collins painted it was such a joy! We will treasure it forever!

I was super-pleased with my photo print purchase! Like many people, I’m sure, when making online purchases there’s always just a little voice of skepticism in the back of my mind. I knew I liked the image, but had to roll the dice that it would look good in person, the frame would be adequate, etc. I must say it exceeded even my hopeful expectations! First of all, the packing was stellar. The photo print did look great in person, and the framing was WAY better than I was expecting! It was ready to go with a sturdy hanging wire already in place. Unfortunately it was a gift, so I don’t have a photo of it on my wall! I did, however, open and inspect it before wrapping it and re-shipping (in the same stellar packing!). I would easily recommend FineArtAmerica and will happily shop with them again in the future…worry free!

Saturday evening saw the third and final of the three fireworks displays that make up the Celebration of Light festival in Vancouver, this one by Team Japan. Continuing on my panoramic theme, for this final display I decided to give Burnaby Mountain a try, approximately 15 kilometres east of downtown.
I had thought that, with this being a relatively distant viewpoint, and with the fireworks being launched on the far side of downtown, that there wouldn't be many people at this viewpoint, but I couldn't have been more wrong -- it was packed! Fortunately I was still able to grab the best spot for photography, giving a clear view without obstructions from the surrounding trees.
The weather on Saturday night turned considerably more humid, giving a beautiful red glow on the horizon from the sunset, but also resulted in challenging shooting conditions at this distance, made worse as the smoke from the fireworks started to build up. Born in the UK, I moved to Vancouver, BC in 2011. My career in photography has grown from a long-held passion for capturing the beauty of the world, aided on the technical side by my background as a software developer. I specialise in fine art photography of landscapes, seascapes and cityscapes in and around the Pacific Northwest, with work exhibited internationally.
