Calm Waters was painted with Holbein gouache paints on 140-pound, Arches watercolor paper.
This is a serene setting overlooking a freshwater pond with a single, white duckling floating over the calm waters. The trees in the background along with the blue sky, reflect into the quiet waters below. This painting was painted entirely in gouache, which is opaque watercolor.

I am a fine art painter and photographer from Long Island, New York. I consider myself an impressionist painter. Although I started out as a portrait artist, I am now primarily a landscape painter, floral painter and photographer. Starting a new landscape painting from the many beautiful vistas this world has to offer, is always an exciting prospect and losing myself in the petals of a flower is just as exhilarating.
