This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

A Douglas C-133 Cargomaster heavy lift transport plane flies over its home base of Travis Air Force Base, Fairfield/Suisun California, in the early 1960s. The C-133 was a huge transport and carried large loads great distances for over a decade but is often unrembembered by any except the few who served in it.
About Stu Shepherd
Stu Shepherd has been an aviation illustrator for nearly twenty years. His work is mostly known by box cover art on aircraft model kits made by Revell and Monogram, for whom he has done over 300 images (now including car box art and Star Wars items too). Stu has also worked in the Computer Game and Internet Community industries. He also creates art in the Science Fiction and Fantasy Genres, with his strength in spaceship design and environments. Stu just completed his first novel Sci-fi, and will soon complete his second. He lives in Central California.
