Description
The Brittlebush plant (Encelia farinosa) is a common shrub in the Sonoran Desert which is usually the first to bloom in spring near Tucson, Arizona. Here the coat of fragrant, bright yellow flowers stand proud over the blueish green leaves. With a wet winter, the blooming Brittlebush will carpet the desert and lower reaches of the mountains in a bright yellow. The woody remains of a cane cholla cactus accent the power of life, and the life cycle of plants here in the desert.

Beautiful bush, Douglas, and I also love the unusual looking driftwood type of pieces along the left side and bottom of the bush. Congratulations for having this great piece of artwork chosen to be featured in our Wisconsin Flowers and Scenery group. I am proud to be able to support and promote all artists within our group. I very much enjoyed viewing the masterfully done piece from you portfolio to show off to all other artists and to attract perspective buyers. Thanks for sharing your beautiful artwork with all FAA members. Well worthy of this recognition.

Thank you for this wonderful honor, Randy! I appreciate your personal compliment and your ongoing support very much. What appears to be driftwood are old cane cholla skeletons.
