The 1918 Boston Red Sox were the last Red Sox team to win the World Series until the 2004 Red Sox. The 1918 team pictured here in Black and White boasted Babe Ruth who can be seen fifth from left in the back row of this photo. Many people blamed the team’s cutting ties with Ruth as the reason for no further championships. This was commonly referred to as the curse of the Bambino.
