Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

The Birks of Aberfeldy ((birks' from the Scots for birch trees or trees) is a circular walk along the Moness Glen.The gorge with its hanging valleys where streams drop down its slopes. Designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest for its botanical plant life, believed to be untouched by man for over 8,000 years. The Birks is one of the sites included in the Perthshire Big Tree Country Heritage and Access project, which celebrates the Perthshire's spectacular natural heritage.
If you walk in about a half mile, you will find Robert Burns seated on a bench, note pad in hand. Walk a little further, you will find a plaque recording the spot that Burns is reputed to have written his poem. 'The Birks o'Aberfeldie'.
Larry Saunders was born and raised in the lush, green forested, rolling hills and mountains of West Virginia. As a young boy, he loved the outdoors and spent a large part of his time there but it wasn't until he came to California that he found his real love for the wildness, the peacefulness, and the solitude of the environment. Shortly after arriving in California he became involved with the Sierra Club by taking their Basic Mountaineering class and eventually became an Outing Leader for the North San Diego County Chapter for ten years. It was during his adventures of hiking and backpacking over the mountains of the Sierras, Wyoming, the Grand Canyon, the Napali coast of Kauai, and the deserts of California that he began to find his...
