During Ben Roethlisberger's rookie season with the Pittsburgh Steelers he was informed by the NFL that he could no longer write the letters PFJ on his shoes. According to Ben, the letters stand for "Play For Jesus" and that he had written them on his shoes through his college days and wanted to continue that tradition into the NFL. Ben said that the letters will be on his shoes although they may not be visible or otherwise face a punishment from the league. This was the motivation behind the concept of my Big Ben Godsend banner that I hang at the games at Heinz Field. It is based on Michelangelo's Creation of Adam panel on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Art Rooney, the "Chief", rides along side God whispering in his ear that the Steelers are desperately in need a franchise quarterback. The original banner is approximately 10 feet by ten feet and can be seen hanging on the rotunda during home games. GO STEELERS!

Fred Carrow was born and raised in Oil City, Pennsylvania and graduated from Edinboro University. He currently holds teaching degrees in Art Education and Social Studies with Bachelor of Fine Art degrees in Painting, Printmaking and Ceramics. He has been teaching art and photography at Keystone High School for the past 30 years. His paintings depict a wide range of various subjects from Pittsburgh sports art to historical subjects such as Jefferson�s Monticello in Virginia. His artworks are in private collections throughout the United States and abroad. Fred has also won numerous awards in both local and international art competitions throughout his lifetime and continues to be inspired mostly by what is just outside his own front...
