A vintage movie poster of ''Beggars of Life'', a 1928 American silent film directed by William A. Wellman and starring Wallace Beery. This film is notable for its gritty portrayal of life on the road during the Great Depression and its exploration of societal outcasts and the pursuit of freedom.
The story follows Nancy (played by Louise Brooks), a young woman who escapes her abusive stepfather's home after a violent altercation. On the run and dressed as a boy, she meets a fellow drifter named Jim (played by Richard Arlen) and Oklahoma Red (played by Wallace Beery). Together, they embark on a journey as hobos, hopping trains and encountering various characters along the way. As they navigate the challenges of life on the road, their bond deepens, and they find themselves in a complex and unconventional relationship.
