Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Barn in the Sun is a warm and clean painting. This barn sitting in a mountainous landscape is painted with minimal strokes, yet describes the scene. It has a golden and somewhat pinkish tint to the light values of the painting.
Painting is my passion! Painting on location, or Plein Air Painting is the best. I've had the pleasure of studying with great artists and painting in so many beautiful places. I've learned the magic of getting in the ZONE. Watercolor is my language. Oils are my second language. Honestly, I love it all. I want to feel the brush floating and gliding. See the texture and feel the palette knife spread the paint like butter. Seeing an image start to appear and then following intuitively, the mood or direction it takes you. Trying to coax the image without going too far. It's an experience and a balancing trick that is cautiously traveled. An adventure and a journey with each piece. The Pacific Northwest provides constant beauty as my subject....
