I was well aware of the gorgeous lighting on this October evening in rural North Carolina, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. What I wasn't aware of is the fact that I was facing the wrong direction for most of my images!

For the majority of the evening, I was shooting with my back to the sun. The golden light was beautifully illuminating the scene before me. However, not until I glanced behind me did I see the best lighting of all! I guess that just goes to show you that sometimes it's okay to look back.
