Description
The scene of a Sonoran Desert sunset with the clouds lit up this awesome orange hue was recorded at Tucson Mountain Park and Saguaro National Park, looking west-southwest across the Avra Valley with the rugged Roskruge Mountains silhouetted about 15 miles (24 km) in the distance. I had been concentrating on lovely pink clouds on the northern horizon when I turned to see this brilliant flash of color lighting up the evening clouds for a spectacular moment.
The evening was calm and warm, and I was amazingly alone in this vast parkland with nary another photographer in sight as I captured the glorious color.
This photograph was made at 6:02 PM with my zoom lens set at 85mm. I note the time here because this sunset was of such magnificence to warrant creating a new collection to celebrate this colorful display of which this is the 10th image in the sequence. The name of the collection is "EVOLUTION OF THE SUNSET - JANUARY 28th 2024", and can be found by following this link: https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/1-douglas-taylor?tab=artworkgalleries&artworkgalleryid=1162559
This colorful and dramatic landscape mural is also part of my "West By Southwest - An American Mural Project" collection. Like all of the others in the collection it is formatted in the 3:5 ratio and are only available in the 20" x 12", 24" x 14.375", 30" x 18", 40" x 24", 48" x 28.75", and 60" x 36" sizes, also 43.25" X 72" as a massive wall mural for a spectacular presentation on a large wall with stunning color and clarity. Please see the collection for further information.
