Description
The juvenile common loon remains in Minnesota after its parents leave in the fall to migrate south. The juveniles then gather into flocks on northern lakes and make their own journey south a few weeks later. This young loon was likely glad it stayed behind as it enjoyed the vibrant reflection of autumn color on a gorgeous October day in Minnesota's Maplewood State Park.
