Ashland, OR attracts visitors years round, especially for the Shakespear Festival. Lithia Park, designed by master gardener of the San Francisco, Golden Gate Park, is planted so there is something of attraction throughout the year. This provides continual inspiration for the nature lover, artist, and photographer. An outdoor theater schedules various venues to enjoy on warm summer evenings. Deer come down from the surrounding hills at dusk to feed off the lawns and pose for pictures. This stream runs the length of this park and one can hike the stream side trail from the town up to the reservoir, where local residents enjoy a small park, beach and dipping in the Mt. Ashland snow pack runoff cool water.
