Description
Artichokes are grown in California in large numbers, but not very much close to where I live. The soil is not perfect for them. So, I have been surprised to see some growing wildly in neighbors' yards. This image is what they look like when they have not been picked. They flower in this eruption of purple and pinkish outgrowth. After taking the photo, I worked on it with the Topaz filter Impressions 2 which created the painterly, Impressionistic style. I then used the PsykoPaint program to add to the level of abstraction.
