I painted this desert scene after an inspiring visit to Saguaro National Monument (Park) just outside Tucson, Arizona. There are orange/red mountains in the background, tall Saguaro cactus in bloom, as are the red Ocotillo cactus. A hiking path welcomes you! I am a self-taught artist and have been painting in oils for many years. At the same time my photography has developed following the same principles of composition and color. Much of my work has a "save the environment" theme and my inspiration comes from nature and visions of light and color. My interest in art began in the 5th grade with a remarkable teacher who, along with all the other subjects, made time for art and music every day.
