(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) Once upon a time, leaders of European countries sent their sailors out into the oceans to find the New World. Spain once settled and owned a large portion of the American southwest so that history and influence remains quite strong today. Especially in the architecture of the old Spanish Missions and even in the style of new buildings. These structures are abundantly rich in earth tones, wood beams, tile roofs, textured adobe or stone walls and beautiful rounded openings like these. I truly enjoyed my time in this area and now long to return just to enjoy the beauty of the many...Arches Of southern California.
I created this image from my original photograph taken on location by adding digital enhancements, textures and painterly-style effects. These effects and image details will become more visible by clicking inside the green magnifier square as the cursor is placed over the image.
