Antelope Canyon's wonderful play of light and patterns captivates many visitors each year. However, this place also has a darker, dangerous aspect.
It was here in Lower Antelope Canyon that 11 people drowned in a flash flood in August 1997, when water 50 feet deep from a thunderstorm 5 miles away swept through the canyon, eventually deepening it by 4 feet.

Love this shot. Have yet to actually see a slot canyon. Canyon country is my favorite place to travel.
