The Allstate
From 1952 to 1954 you could buy your car from a Sears Catalog. This restored Allstate car was on view at Towing Convention in Orlando, Florida. I had never seen, nor heard of this car before.
In those days you always found a Sears or Penny's catalog in the house, or the outhouse. This was the days before mega dealers with 500 cars in the lot. In those days, even the dealers only had one or two cars, and you had to order your cars from them then wait for them to come to you.
Although it was a failed effort for Sears, I am sure glad to have found this gem, hidden amongst the clutter of towing gear. To me, this was the star of the show.
