Cathedral Rock Hiking requires determination. The round trip is 1.5 miles but with Age or disabilities you feel it is much further. The first of the trails up the monument is quite steep. But, hikers have etched steps into the base, making it easier to reach the saddle. The saddle is views at the base of each of the spires, and provide panoramic views of the valley beyond. To the first saddle is the most difficult, but visitors are rewarded with stunning vistas on three sides. Monuments and mountains in the distance are visible. The landscape includes blooming century plants, with native agaves growing abundant among the base of the rocks.

At the second saddle you can look directly up at the first spires, surrounded by massive peaks at the center of Cathedral Rock. The third saddle brings adventurous hikers in view of the most delicate of the spires, but its like looking up at the Empire State Building. The group of three rising sandstone towers that change color with the time of day. As the Sun moves from subtle orange at sunrise to brilliants red throughout the Golden Hours of an afternoon sunset... Cathedral Rock puts on a magnificent display of natural beauty from sunrise to sunset.
