Description
Venturing up to Acadia National Park on January 1st, 2016 might seem silly to some people, but not to us. We visit Acadia each summer and really wanted to experience this amazing place in the winter. The snow was just deep enough to cover the trees and rocky coast with a shimmer of white. It is a magical place in summer, but even more so in winter. The bridge you see is located on the Park Loop Road which is closed in the winter giving hikers a chance to walk along the road without cars. All of the bridges were built by John D. Rockefeller, Jr and add a lovely historical compliment to the park. The bridges were built with the natural formation of the land.
