Description
his is one of my B&W large format film photographs. It was used as the cover of the Summer 1989 issue of Spoon River Quarterly, a Poetry Anthology edited by Dr Lucia Getsi and published by the English Dept., Illinois State University. The cover was selected by Poet's Market for design excellence and reproduced in the 1991 issue where Dr. Getsi wrote "There is a supernatural beauty here, the natural processes of decay as the house sags and begins to cave in, while the trees and scrubs, so carefully planted decades before, grow dense and wild, a lavish embrace of artifice back into the natural world.

Well done, Joe. You have definitely captured "Abandoned" essence.
Joe Beasley replied:
Thank Charles. I also have the printers proof of when it was used as the cover of Spoon River
