Description
On 8 March 1965 the railway route between Grosmont and Rillington, near Malton, was closed by British Railways under the infamous “Beeching Axe”. The NYMR is planning to mark the 50th anniversary of this monumental event, starting with a weekend (6-8 March) of traction that reflects what would’ve been seen when the line closed. Including K1 No. 62005 and K4 No. 3442 (now 61994) “The Great Marquess”, the scenic diesel railcar (Class 101 DMU), Class A4 Pacific No. 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley
