FESTIVAL Golden autumn. Pokrovsky cathedral. Spasskaya tower.
About the Festival
The theme of Moscow’s main harvest festival this year will be innovations in Russian agriculture. Visitors of the culinary event will see how smart technologies can contribute to food production, how big data helps forecast agricultural yields, and how robots monitor the health of the fields.
At the festival venues, you’ll be able to buy the best Russian farm products, sample dishes from a special seasonal menu, acquaint yourself with the traditional cuisine of various Russian regions, attend free folk concerts, and even travel back in time with historical reenactment enthusiasts!
Russian Field on Red Square Colorful autumn days will welcome you to Russia’s main square, where you’ll get a glimpse of a real Russian field, complete with waving wheat, a wild garden, forest trees and berries, an apiary, and a pasture containing wooden animal sculptures… all right in the very center of a huge megapolis! You won’t be able to miss an amazing mill towering above this venue adorned with images from famous Soviet cartoons. An exhibition featuring creative models of different types of agricultural machinery is another must-see attraction here. In the Smart Technologies Zone, you’ll learn about agricultural navigation systems, intelligent fertilizer application, forecasts and strategies created with the help of advanced data analysis, and drones that monitor field conditions and harvesting operations, plus much much more!
The sky was breathing the fall coolness,
The sun was shining so much less,
Days turned to gray, became such short,
Forests were taking off their gold
Mysterious canopy with sad noise,
On fields white thick fog was lying,
Cackling, a geese flock was flying
To the South: the quite monotonous
Time was approaching quickly;
November stood close really.
