Description
Exploring the Northern Virginia countryside offers a glimpse back in time. Loudoun County, Virginia stood right in the heart of the war and boasts a well preserved history of a war that defined our country. We explored Civil War sites in both Loudoun and Fauquier Counties with their "quaint villages, stone-fenced farms, tree-lined byways, and magnificent vistas". Located along the John S. Mosby Highway is the small town of Upperville where I spotted this abandoned house. One of many buildings I stopped to capture. It sits close to the road and abuts an old cemetery where we found head stones dating to before the civil war. This is perfect art for any Civil War buff.
