Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Harris' Voyages is a compilation of European knowledge of the world in the mid eighteenth century. An earlier version of this image is from 1706 "Three Years Travels from Moscow over-land to China" by Evert Ysbrants Ides Ides, (London). Tungusic peoples inhabit Eastern Siberia and are recognized as distinct from Mongols and Turkic peoples. The first European description of a Tungusic people was by the Dutch traveller Isaac Massa in 1612. Such people may have had a role in populating the Americas via the coast and Beiring land bridge, and similarities in dress and features can here be seen."
