Description
The misty night envelops the few cars out in the late-night hours of a midweek eve; clouds of fog drift in and out, glowing the headlights, and lending an atmosphere of romance and mystery to the city streets. Just another night of Noir in The City.

Dear Natalie, Thank you very much for the fav and your lovely comment - yes, I felt that adding a bit of color here added some depth to the scene. Sometimes it can do that with a black and white.

Absolutely splendid, Miriam! This reminds me of some of the old movies filmed on location in New York many decades ago! F/V

I love your post processing on this image. Give a feel of something about to happen, like an alien envision or something terrifying like that. Great work. Love it much.
Miriam Danar replied:
Wow - there is so much to contemplate in your comment .. I am so happy you like my work!!!

Reminds me of a poem I wrote: I remember The sounds of the early morning hours. I remember The shuffling sound that breaks the stillness, The quiet time just before the city wakes up. I remember The sounds of milk trucks making their early morning deliveries, And the clanging of garbage cans, A groaning bus, And a man making his way home from a night shift – The city yawning and stretching its limbs like a waking dog. But times have changed And now the city never sleeps. Busy people scramble around with busy things And even the children are wakened and rushed off to noisy places. The quiet is gone – the sounds blended, There is nothing left to signal the start of a new day. We've arrived in a hurry – all going to the same place The rush to nowhere, And now we're here. And there’s nothing to remember. - Robert Knight, February 18, 2013
Miriam Danar replied:
Dear Robert, I am humbled by your incredible poem, and honored that my photo brings such beautiful thoughts to mind. Your poem reminds me a little of Robert Frost and W.H. Auden. You are very talented.
