Born into a family of masons and masons-clockmakers, Jean-Baptiste �mile Dropsy apprenticed metal engraver Lemoine, dock Jemmapes in Paris, and learned drawing during Levasseur. Become excellent engraver, he moved to his account. JB Emile DROPSY broke with the family tradition that seemed to make all the Dropsy, the masons. Indeed, his father and his grandfather exercised this profession. In the eighteenth century, Dropsy masons were many, many worked for the Royal Court, and one of them, telling himself master sculptor mason, became director of the Academy of St. Luke. What were some of these characters, Emile Dropsy ancestors Only a study of special records, if they exist, could we learn.
Emile Dropsy therefore abandoned the profession of his ancestors, and was apprenticed metal engraver Lemoine, based in Paris Quai Jemmapes, while attending drawing classes. Having become a great writer, he moved to his account. Then at thirty, the age when you complete the course, when they are completed long ago, he boldly began modeling medals under the direction of Ferdinand Levillain. As was to live and as circumstances permitted it to sell religious medals, he devoted many years to this kind of medals, striving to finish them well and make them attractive, according to the taste of the public.
