Description
Photographed during its annual turn around cruse passing Castle Island in Boston harbor. The USS Constitution is a wooden-hulled, three-masted heavy frigate of the United States Navy, named by President George Washington after the Constitution of the United States of America. The Constitution was launched in 1797, one of six original frigates authorized for construction by the Naval Act of 1794 and the third constructed. From May 2015 to July 2017 the vessel was dry docked undergoing restoration in Charlestown Navy Yard, Boston, Massachusetts. After the restoration was complete, she was returned to the water on 23 July 2017. (1087)
